Mark Lemon                         Director

Growing up in the West Country, Mark’s semiotic adventure started during his employment as a lifeguard, where the customers generously made him aware of their varied ways of interpreting pool rules. From here Mark took a BA in English and Media at the University of Plymouth, before deciding to specialize and complete an MA in Semiotics at the University of Tartu in Estonia.

Mark joined Sign Salad after conducting discourse analysis for social advocacy projects in Ireland. At Sign Salad he has completed projects across a variety of categories, including investigations of the cultural meaning of coffee in Europe, refreshment in South America, and banking in the US.

Mark’s fondness for a new challenge has led to his (often misguided) passions for monoskiing and performing stand-up comedy, and he juggles an interest in sports, music, and world travel.
